3. Cubic boron nitride (CBN) and polycrystalline diamond (PCD)
- CBN blades:
- Hardness is second only to diamond (HV4500-5000), heat resistance reaches 1400℃, and is specially used for superhard materials such as hardened steel (HRC55+) and high-temperature alloys (Inconel 718).
- PCD blades:
- Excellent wear resistance, suitable for machining silicon aluminum alloys (silicon content > 12%) and carbon fiber composites, and the service life is more than 20 times that of cemented carbide.
