Introduction to common models of Milling Inserts

1. Single-edge milling cutter insert
Single-edge cutter inserts are the most common and simplest inserts used in milling. It is generally suitable for face milling, contour milling, and grooving, and has the advantages of low cutting forces, easy machining and removal. Single-edge cutter inserts are usually identified with a "W" with a number, e.g. W1204.

2. Multi-edge milling cutter inserts
Multi-edge cutter inserts offer higher efficiency and greater machining depth than single-edge cutter inserts, as well as reduced vibration and noise when working. Common models of multi-edge milling cutter inserts are the "SE" and "SN" series, e.g. SEKN42AFN.

3. Ball nose milling cutter insert
Ball nose milling cutter inserts are mainly used in spherical, rounding, spherical grooving and other machining fields. The advantages of ball nose inserts are good surface quality, low cutting force, and high machining efficiency. The model number of the ball nose cutter insert is usually identified with an "R" with a number, e.g. R1.5.

4. Circular milling cutter blade
Circular milling cutter inserts are suitable for machining surfaces at different angles, including concave circles, convex circles, round arches, etc. Circular milling cutter inserts are available in different angles and radii, and the model number is usually identified with an "R" with a number, e.g. R5.

5. T-type milling cutter blade
T-cutter inserts are mainly used in grooving and convex and concave machining. The advantages of T-cutter inserts are clean cutting, no burrs, and high machining efficiency. The model of the T-cutter insert usually uses the letter "T" followed by a number to indicate the width, such as T6.

6. Angle milling inserts
Angle milling inserts are mainly used in angle and bevel machining. The machining efficiency of the angle milling insert is high, and there is no need to do secondary processing, and the surface finish obtained is high. Angle milling inserts are usually modeled with the letter "V" followed by a number, e.g. V45.

7. Other milling cutter blades
In addition to the above common types of milling cutter inserts, there are also some special types of inserts, such as cutting cutter inserts, plunging cutter inserts and thread milling cutter inserts. These inserts are suitable for specific machining areas and can be used optionally as required.
