1. Radial feed method
When turning threads, the left and right blades of the turning tool participate in the cutting, which is fed transversely by the middle slide plate, and passes through multiple strokes until the thread is turned. The radial feed method is suitable for turning triangular threads with a pitch of P<3mm, and is also suitable for finishing turning of triangular threads with a pitch of P≥3mm.
2. Axial feed method (left and right feed method)
When turning threads with large pitches, in order to reduce the phenomenon of piercing caused by the simultaneous cutting of two cutting edges of the turning tool, the turning tool can be used to cut with only one cutting edge. In the turning process, in addition to the transverse feed, the small slide plate is also used to make a small feed to the left or right, so that the turning tool only has one side of the cutting edge for cutting, through multiple strokes, until the thread is turned. This processing method is suitable for finishing turning of P≥3mm threads, etc.
3. Oblique feeding method
When turning threads, except for the transverse feed of the middle slide plate, only the small slide plate is fed in one direction. This method is only suitable for rough turning.
4. Improved oblique feed method
This turning method has cutting tasks on both cutting edges, and one of the cutting edges undertakes the main cutting task, which can avoid the problem of large wear of the cutting edge on the oblique feed without cutting and large surface roughness of the workpiece. This method is suitable for CNC machining.
